Is the newest search engine "Cuil," "Cuill," or both?
Q. A search for the new search engine spelled either with one "L" or two takes you to two different sites but both referring to the same company. What's the reason for the two different spellings?
Asked by Latigo - Mon Jul 28 10:59:40 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is very common to register a number of domain names and point them to the one that has the actual web content. This ensures that people will find you when typing misspellings into a browser as well as when searching for another variation of the domain, such as .org or .net. Many companies concerned with branding will do their best to make sure that they register every variation of their company name, including misspellings and domain extensions.

Have you heard about Cuil.com before? which search engine is more popular Google or Cuil?
Q. Now there are plenty of search engines on web. After the launch of Cuil, do you think that Google has got some tough competition? Answer me.
Asked by Biswajit G - Sun Aug 31 03:31:39 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. That's a hotly debated question. There are a lot of people that would like to see google knocked off their perch. The reality is that cuil's only real differentiation is the layout of the results. If you read articles on the management of the company, you'll will come to the conclusion that they will be gone soon enough.

Do you think Cuil will surpass google?
Q. Take a look at the latest search engine rivaling Google: www.cuil.com
Asked by DaHated - Mon Jul 28 20:53:41 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. At this point Cuil has many flaws. 1. its servers crash as they lack the adequate power to handle the load of search queries. 2. The search results are not relevant to the search query. 3. For many simple search patterns, no search results are displayed. Google would display hundreds and thousands of results for these search patterns. 4. It is easier to spam Cuil to get to the top as it only scans the content of the website. 5. Search results on page 2 onwards are not available in many cases. 6. The magazine like layout for displaying the result sucks. Cuil will have to overcome these flaws as soon as possible or target a different kind of search engine niche, in order to be a formidable rival to Google.

Why are these search engines crashing the browsers I use?
Q. Every time I use a search engine, or at least a more popular one it will crash my browser when I click the result. I have tried it on Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome, and they crash my browser. The less popular ones, such as Dog Pile, Cuil, and Monster Crawler work, but still like Google, Bing, Ask, AOL, and Yahoo crash it. Any help?

Q. Cuil is founded by former employees of Google and it claims to better Google. Have you tried searching through www.cuil.com? It is pronounced as 'cool'. What do you think?

A. Any extra competition for Google benefits everyone, including Google. There are dozens of search engines, even some better, but Google is still the gold standard. So far, Cuil has good PR and that's about it. They need a lot of funding to take on Google.

A. The Search Engines make money by selling ads. The people who pay will get their ad placed at the top of any search result. The engine helps its customers by getting results in 3 seconds instead of the customer looking thru a telephone book to try to find a company. Amazon makes money with ads and they also charge a fee to sell things on their site. They help their customers by selling books online for much less than the price of a bookstore. McDonalds tries to drive customers to their restaurants. They help the customer by telling the nearest store and explaining the current "specials".
